Abstract
Abstract This research aims to analyze how costume design influences player immersion in historical role-playing video games. To this end, a comparative study was conducted between two video games with similar characteristics in terms of genre, historical theme, and release period. The analysis focuses on how costumes interact with the characters and the environment, considering aspects such as their behavior in response to weather conditions, exposure to external factors, and their ability to communicate the characters' cultural, social, and economic identity. It also examines how these elements contribute to building a coherent and believable narrative, capable of strengthening the player's immersive experience. The research was developed through a comparative analysis supported by surveys and character profiles, which allowed for the identification of how costumes function as a narrative resource that provides information about each character's personality, context, and identity. Based on this, the relationship between the quality and coherence of costume design and the level of immersion perceived by players was evaluated.
