Abstract
Abstract Overweight is a health condition with serious physical and emotional consequences for people who suffer from it, constituting a risk factor for comorbidities such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, obstructive sleep apnea, cardiovascular disease, liver disease, dyslipidemia, joint pain, various types of cancer, depression and infertility (Carrasco et al., 2022), generating higher mortality, increased morbidity and a detrimental impact on the quality of life of those who suffer from it (Álvarez et al., 2020). Despite the numerous efforts made to combat its advance, it continues to show alarming growth both globally and nationally; therefore, this research aims to design a multifactorial strategy to reduce overweight through diet, physical activity and psychological strengthening, focused on promoting self-care and healthy lifestyles in the adult population (25 - 39 years) who lives in district of Medellín. It is expected that there will be a reduction in overweight in the population through the implementation and incorporation of the multifactorial strategy in people's daily practices, which will allow for the improvement of both physical and emotional health conditions.
