Depósito inteligente/autónomo para la separación de diferentes residuos

Abstract

En la actualidad se está presentando una situación con el manejo de residuos ya que cuenta con cierta dificultad para que una persona del común pueda separarlos. Con respecto a esto, se está llevando a cabo diferentes soluciones para lidiar con el poco aprovechamiento de los residuos, una de estas soluciones que se plantea, es hacer un sistema inteligente que ayude con la separación de estos para poder identificarlos. Con encuestas a diferentes personas que habitan la ciudad de Medellín se confirma la problemática que hay con los residuos y ciertas personas reconocen no darle importancia a la separación de estos. El proyecto se estructura en varias etapas fundamentales. Primero, se implementa un banco de imágenes que recoja distintos tipos de residuos, estas imágenes están acompañadas con sus respectivas etiquetas, esto es con el propósito de entrenar la red neuronal. Posteriormente, se construyen las maquetas de los contenedores donde se evidencia el funcionamiento de los actuadores que le permiten la apertura de los contenedores y el reconocimiento de cada objeto. Por último, se procede a la validación del sistema, esta fase implicará pruebas exhaustivas para verificar la precisión del reconocimiento de residuos y asegurar que el mecanismo de apertura automática funciona de manera fiable y eficiente.

-- Abstract Currently, there is a situation with waste management as it is somewhat difficult for an average person to separate them. In response to this, various solutions are being carried out to deal with the poor utilization of waste. One of these proposed solutions is to create an intelligent system that assists in the separation of waste to identify them properly. Surveys conducted among different residents of Medellín confirm the waste problem and some people acknowledge not giving importance to separating them. The project is structured in several fundamental stages. First, an image bank is implemented to collect different types of waste, with these images accompanied by their respective labels. This is done to train the neural network. Subsequently, models of the containers are built where the operation of the actuators, which allow the opening of the containers and the recognition of each object, is demonstrated. Finally, the system validation is carried out. This phase will involve exhaustive tests to verify the accuracy of waste recognition and ensure that the automatic opening mechanism works reliably and efficiently.
