Abstract
Abstrac This work addresses the design and implementation of a real-time monitoring system for the power factor, aiming to optimize energy consumption and prevent regulatory penalties in the Colombian electrical sector. To achieve this goal, a system was designed based on Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, which includes a data acquisition module and a graphical user interface. Controlled tests were conducted in a laboratory environment to evaluate the prototype's performance. The system successfully monitored and stored data efficiently, demonstrating a 95% accuracy in measuring electrical parameters. This project contributes to the development of technological solutions for energy monitoring, enabling companies to optimize their electricity consumption and avoid financial surcharges. Furthermore, it opens the possibility of extending the system's application to more complex industrial scenarios.
